IGOUMENITSA GREECE… I WILL EVENTUALLY MAKE IT THROUGH MY EUROPE PHOTOS

Okay so for real this time, I’m going to actually START blogging more regularly again… at least once a week (fingers crossed!). Truth be told, I think I got a little burnt out on it before and I needed to take a nice, long break before before I started to view blogging as fun again versus a chore lol.

Anyways, needless to say a LOT of changes have happened in my life since I was last blogging regularly. A BIG one that has been taking up the majority of my “free” time (and clothing budget for that matter lol) since June has been my new house!  I promise I’ll be doing a photoshoot of the house very, very soon so that you all can see. But needless to say, my little duplex furniture definitely did not fill the house so I’ve been on quite the decorating/furniture spree lol.

Another reason I haven’t been blogging is that I had not been able to find my SLR for a good two months lol. But this past week I found it sitting in a basket on the top shelf of my closet, so I’m back in business there!

But the house and such is another blog for another time. Until then, I’m using  a few more of my European vacation pictures to populate this post.

I give you… Igoumenitsa, Greece! Enjoy!

-Andrew J

Approaching Igoumenitsa on our Minoan Cruise!

I’m told I still haven’t really “seen” Greece until I have been to the Greek Isle’s, but the mainland is still plenty beautiful!

Igoumenitsa was definitely NOT a super touristy town. But there was something about that that I really liked. The town-folk looked at us like we were the first American’s there in quite a while lol, but it was cool.

We walked around the town before having dinner and went to a store to pick up a few snacks, groceries, and some things to drink for the room – it was SO cool to go shopping in a foreign town that was so obviously not geared to tourists lol. Sort of gave us a feeling for what it would be like to really live there.

View from the top of our hotel!

Some REALLY amazing Greek beef and vegetables. Plus we had some amazing tzatziki that was out of this world!

I obviously hated it 😉

Even the flowers in Greece were super different from any I had ever seen before. I don’t even know how many pictures I took of all of the different plants and flowers lol. I was a little obsessed…

I have seen a lot of sunsets in my life in some really beautiful places. I have to say, Greece perhaps takes the cake. The sun was just different there, especially when it hit the Mediterranean!

We only stayed two days in Greece, and the next day was kind of rainy and we stayed in doors most of the day to recharge and just took in the sleepy Greek town. I think it was a different experience from most people I have heard who have gone to Greece… But I sort of like it that way :). I felt like what we experienced was a little hidden treasure that is untouched and unknown by most American’s. I would definitely go back and cannot wait to!

Next European post – CROATIA! Hands down my new favorite place in the world!

SPRINGTIME IN PARIS | PHOTOS LONG OVERDUE

Posted in Architecture, Europe, Life, photography, Street Style with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on February 14, 2012 by Me & Marisa

While berating myself over the fact that I have not updated since before Christmas – I was going through some old blogs and had a VERY troubling revelation… I NEVER POSTED PHOTOS FROM EUROPE!!!

So here is the first installment, of the first location (if you followed the Youtube channel, it will be fun to put photos with the video!) – PARIS!

Enjoy the photos – the really is nothing like Paris in the Spring.

-Andrew J.

What is Paris without their tulips?

Lovers under the Eiffel TowerRecreating a VERY old picture from when I was like 16 in Paris with Angelique… do not judge my fashion sense… I was packing for speed not style. The three amigos of Paris!View of the Eiffel Tower from a fantastic grassy knoll where Tyler, Angelique and I enjoyed hotdogs made with french baguette and spicy mustard! The Sacre CoeurWho is that stylish French girl anyhow? THE LITTLE BLACK HAT | FIRST POST OF 2011

Posted in Fashion, Lookbook.nu, Street Style, Trends with tags , , , , , , , , on January 1, 2011 by Me & Marisa

Happy New Years day everyone! I know it’s going to be a FANTASTIC 2011 and I wish the same for all of you as well!

Okay- so I have a lot of photos I’ve been taking over Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc. that I need to get up here, but today I have to draw attention to the trendster accessory of the season (in my opinion of course).

Yes, I’m talking about The little black hat.

Sometimes a little wider brim than others, yet the style remains the same. Not sure what I’m talking about? Check out the pictures below and whether you are a guy or a girl- head to your favorite accessory spot and pick on up.

Have a great weekend everyone!

FASHION’S NIGHT OUT (Part 2) | EVEN MORE DELAYED

Posted in Fashion, Fashion Week, Life, New York, photography, Shoes, Sightseeing, Street Style, Trends with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on December 7, 2010 by Me & Marisa

So I’ve decided Fashion’s Night Out may as well have been renamed “Fashion’s Amazing Window-Displays” because no punches were pulled when it came to awesome displays of style in the window and store displays around the city. Here are the last pics of that night- definitely one to remember!
-Andrew J

Friends in Fashion, I don’t remember their names though… I think his was Nick… Because I was like “Oh Nick, this is Nicholas.” haha. She had a really cool Russian name though I think.
Suzy Menkes– fashion editor for the International Herald Tribune
Victoria Beckham anyone?
Loved this lady! I asked for a picture and she just instinctively posed like this! She was definitely in her “element”.
The guy on the left (Luke) was really nice and soft spoken. We were talking when the guy on the right (Fais) came up and was like “Do you want our picture? We’re models you know.”… he was annoying and ruined an otherwise good picture of a stylish guy- model or no.
Loving this Thom Browne spacesuit Bergdorf display.
Of course, Rodarte.
Check out this girl’s two-tone tights- AWESOME!
There was a big display of these dolls at Barney’s… never figured out what they were… I said Mary -Kate and Ashley designed them haha.
Gucci baby!
Ended the night at Diesel. This guy was hilarious, Nicholas and I were just kinda walking around the store when he was like “Hey you, get over here and let’s get a picture.” hence the weird expression on my face haha. Note to self: Work out… a lot.

FASHION’S NIGHT OUT | MUCH DELAYED

Posted in Fashion, Fashion Week, New York, Shoes, Sightseeing, Street Style, Trends with tags , , , , , , , , , , on November 17, 2010 by Me & Marisa

Hello hello hello! This is MUCH delayed and about a week and 1/2 over my own personal deadline, but take pity on me… I’m a new daddy 🙂 (again). I just adopted a rescue dog that someone had dumped on my parents road. I’ll put up pictures soon but her name is Ellie and she is everything I’ve ever wanted in a dog. Such a sweet girl and makes me very happy :).

Anywho, on the to the fashion stuff. As promised, here are some of the much over-due photos from Fashion’s Night Out during my Fall Fashion Week trip to NYC. Enjoy! And hope you’re week is going well!

Standing in line for our first event of the evening; Opening Ceremony at the Ace Hotel

Turning the corner and seeing the sign for the Ace was a most beautiful sight haha.
Once inside the Ace Hotel, the event was set up like a bazaar or a marketplace… only with fabulous swag instead of vegetables and trinkets.

Nicolas and I thought there was more upstairs, so we accidentally hopped on an elevator with some people (you had to have a key haha) and when asked “What floor?” by the others I – ever so nonchalantly – said “Same as you actually.” I’m sure they knew, but who cares ha.
In two words- love it :)… especially followed by “no smoking”
A letter to the Ace Hotel guests in the elevator.
My future address… Trump Park East
On our way to Bergdorf Goodman’s Fashion Night Out party… all of the cameras are because Sarah Jessica Parker was just getting out of her limo.
Unspeakably gorgeous. These were the Bergdorf Goodman window displays for the night. Zero photoshopping on this.

I felt like such a Vogue photographer with these window displays.
Some by-gone diva was singing in one of the windows for those waiting in line.

And at long last, we turned the final corner and…
… we’re in… (to be continued)

AN INTEREST IN FASHION IS… CRUCIAL

Posted in Fashion, Fashion Week, New York, photography, Street Style, Trends with tags , , , , , , , , , on September 29, 2010 by Me & Marisa

Simply put, everyone knows New York has the most amazing (and yes sometimes intersting) street style. Second only to (in my opinion) Tokyo. Here are some photos from NYC to support my theory. Hope your week is going well!
-Andrew J

My favorite- and probably the most “Sartoralist” picture I’ve ever taken.
Saw this model guy like three times that day. Twice on the streets/subway and then later that evening modeling for Tom Ford at Bergdorf Goodman.
Love this guy’s look.
The one of the left is Alexa- super sweet girl! Was one of the people putting Band of Outsiders together.
Love this girl’s dress. Just the right splash of color.

Like I said… sometimes intersting…

BAND OF OUTSIDERS | LOOKING IN

Posted in Fashion, Fashion Week, New York, photography, Street Style, Trends with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on September 14, 2010 by Me & Marisa

So obviously Band of Outsiders was an amazing show- however, part of what made it so amazing were the people attending. Amazing style galore that night from waiting outside to get in, to of course the attendees inside. Here are some pics from Band of Outsiders- Looking in. Enjoy!
-Andrew J

I don’t know who this girl is, but I’m in love with her. She epitomized so many “now” trends it’s absurd! Not to mention the fact that I think she’s beautiful.
Metallic skirts were bit
Loved this pic
Photo bloggers at work.
When I saw that red mane walk by me, my heart basically stopped. Grace Coddington – Creative Director of Vogue
The crowd inside.
Scott Schuman of The Sartoralist
She didn’t even know this was being taken, and look at the amazing pose!
Model Matthew Hitt and Tavi
Model Nick H and Scott Sternberg
Brad Goreski and me :)!
Miles Garber and his mother who is the sweetest woman alive!
Joe Zee, Creative Director of Elle Magazine
Seth Plattner from The City
Man of the hour- Band of Outsiders designer, Scott Sternberg
I got this pic because I love what Tavi’s friend was wearing. And yet no one was taking her picture :(.

Model Remington Guest, caught him on the way down and honestly didn’t recognize him out of show clothes.  Just spoke briefly but seems like a really nice guy- amazing hair too!
