We’re sort of photo students…

Into the last stretch of classes this quarter which means we are finally beginning our final projects! 🙂

Our photo professor gave the class free range for the next four classes. All we do is check in for attendance and out we go to “take photos”.  Brooke and I rewarded our 4.0 grade averages with a little Cheesecake Factory 🙂

We justified it by taking some shots.

Not alcoholic. Photographic.

However the latter is not a bad idea at all. I had a J.W.’s Pink Lemonade. Delicious.

Tons of posts coming through the pipeline along with some exciting new adventures in store.

I want to publicly congratulate my counterpart on his new accounts for New Media Fluent. Andrew and I will hopefully be collaborating on some upcoming events at the Gaylord National Harbor for their ICE Festival. I highly recommend anyone on the east coast to check that shiz out. Phenomenal Ice “wonderland” of sorts. Its hard to explain, but I will keep you posted as work progresses.

Well Vogue does it again. A really great September Issue of Vogue just arrived in my mailbox day before yesterday. Highlights- the Nordstrom Coco Rocha spread FOB and the Trends section BOB. Biggest trends I see in this issue; HEAVY emphasis on fur & feathers. And the stiletto bootie. Enjoy some of my scans from the issue and have a great weekend everyone!

Hello readers! Just a kinda quickie post on some food porn and some shopping pics that I’m finally getting up from Dallas. I wanted to actually put them on and model them like in the olden days, but I just haven’t had the time :(. I couldn’t find my favorite shirt that I bought from Nordstrom which had a big screened heart on it and says “Get in here”. I really like it! I’ll find it eventually (somewhere in my hamper) and snap a pic of it. In the mean time though, enjoy a couple shots from the delicious Saturn Cafe in Edmond and the fashion pics!

Smoked Salmon and a Mozzarella tomato and basil salad. You have to taste it to believe it!

Love the Kate Moss Shirt

BDG Hoodie- Very beachy, going to love it when the first cold snap of fall hits… Oh well, a guy can dream right?

Armani Exchange shirt- I’m in love with it! Can’t wait to wear it to New York Fashion Week in September!

Finally from Express. I got a white one too that I like even better, but again… lost somewhere in my hamper ugh.

Earlier this week, Dominique called me and asked if I wanted to have a date at Barnes & Noble seeking out Fall Fashion Magazines. I of course jumped at the chance at an activity that combines two of my favorite activities; wandering around B&N and Fall Fashion. When we arrived (first off, I didn’t realize till now how similarly we were dressed…) we were a little disappointed to find that the really big fashion bibles hadn’t released their September Issue’s yet. So yeah, no Vogue :/.

Dominique settled for some European Vogue’s from August and I began pulling down the likes of; HeroVogue Homme, 10 Plus Men, GQ ItaliaGuy’s Nylon and finally… Details.  We noticed a trend coming up for women is- the swim cap, very reminiscent to the 1920’s. It’s being spruced up a bit for the 21st century by being manufactured out of more interesting materials, adding embellishments such as flowers, and of course, all of them seem to come with a net veil.

It was funny, we sat down, put our glasses in front of us, and didn’t even realize we were exact mirror’s of each other lol.

Swim caps! Swim caps everywhere! And not a drop of water to spare :(. These are from British Vogue.

This spread on Jean Paul Gaultier, also in British Vogue, was amazing! The purple dress and the green dress were my favorites! Definitely not the strange bird thing…

I like Nylon… but unfortunately their looks are always the same “LA Trendster” and “New York Hipster“… in every, single, magazine, issue… This was the only look that seemed “New” and I don’t think it could be more conservative. Props for the rolled jeans, rolled sleeves (a new favorite of mine) and Henley under the blazer though to spruce things up a bit.

I ended up only getting the September issue of Details with Zac Efron out of all of those magazines, because (this is the truly shocking part)… It had better fashion spreads than the European magazines… Sad day Europe, sad day.

On a 100% random note… I saw these “Cake Lollipops” at Quiznos and I couldn’t help but think; GENIUS! People don’t want the whole cake… they feel bad about themselves after. These provide just the right amount of after-meal sweet. Great consumer insight Quiznos!

Well it’s the middle of summer and I don’t know about the rest of the country, but here in Oklahoma it’s still hotter than hell! If we don’t hit at least 100 degrees, it’s a nice day… like today, 96 is the high and I cannot wait to get outside!  In the spirit of the sweltering weather I decided a little summer wardrobe inspiration was necessary for how to keep cool while looking cool. So put on some linen, get out of the air-conditioning and lets face the heat. After all, come winter, we’re going to wish we had!
Pics from The Sartoralist. Scott is such a genius!

A little random Jane Aldridge, just becuase I REALLY like this picture. And black is the new pastel this summer 😉

Friday a group of friends and I headed down to Dallas for a quick pop-corn 24 hour trip for shopping, food and nightlife. For whatever reason… it seems the only one I really documented out of those three was the food. The trip was a lot of fun and I did do some definite shopping damage (those pics will follow within the next couple of days… when I take them). I love that Dallas is so close that a short trip like this is possible. The rest of the weekend was really mellow and slow filled with yardwork and laundry haha so for now, I’ll just focus on the Dallas trip ;). Enjoy the pics! Hope yours was a great weekend as well!

Can’t go wrong with Campisi’s on Mockingbird. It has such an old mafia feel to it. Great place if you haven’t been there!

View from our hotel room at the Embassy Suites Dallas Love. I felt like I was in a park since we were just above the trees and all of the building were hidden.
This was something really cool and that we sort of stumbled on when we left Northpark for The Galleria. Apparently Red Bull sponsored an art exhibit called The Art of Can where all of these different designs and sculptures were made from Red Bull cans! I had no idea how big of a deal it was until I started seeing billboards for it around the city.

Those are little butterflies made from cans!

Okay I really like this leather jacket from Kenneth Cole. It’s hard to see in this crappy iPhone picture, but it’s kinda “blocky”.

Mmmmm after a night out, nothing quite like  a good breakfast… and one of my favorite things- “HOTEL BACON”!!!

And of course, what would a trip to Dallas be without Sprinkles Cupcakes?

Nothing compliments a Red Velvet Cupcake quite like a bottle of Coke!

For those of you who are familiar with QuickTrip, you will understand this… being in a part of the country right now where there are none it was essential to stop off for a QT Hotdog on the way back home. I don’t care what’s in it, it’s delicious!!!

So this past Friday Adam Lambert was in town and Marion asked me if I wanted to go. It was at the Coke Center here in OKC and general admission so we had to get there at like 4:30 because Marion wanted to be really close to the front. So we got decked out in our glam-rock gear and stood in the heat. It was totally worth it though because were were like 3 rows of people from the stage and she got some AMAZING pictures on her camera. Oh and we met up with (former guest blogger) Gatlin who was dressed to the nines and was totally channeling a little Lady Gaga. He was like a local celebrity though and people kept coming up to us asking for pictures. I don’t think I’ve ever taken so many pictures with strangers in my life- really fun though. Enjoy the pics!

Allison Iraheta opened and was really amazing!

Glambert channeling Jim Morrison
Ring of Fire
The famous Glambert wail!

Backstage after the concert- Me and Allison Iraheta’s guitarist Liz. Check out her band BannerHill they’re awesome!
